Before the Journey

Organizing and Packing

Well the time is finally here... to pack! Many people hate the idea of packing for a trip, and I used to be one of them. However, after having a few trips under my belt now, it is starting to come more naturally and with less panic. I will be traveling through Europe for about two and a half months, so I want to keep my pack as light as possible and with room for my day bag to fit inside to avoid any extra charges on the cheap European airlines. Here is a list of the main items I have in my bag as of right now, two days before my trip.

1 pair of jeans
1 pair of cargo pants
2 pairs of shorts
1 pair of running shorts
1 pair of light-weight sweats
2 layering tanks
1 dressy tank top
1 shawl
3 t-shirts
1 dress
1 skirt
undergarments for a week
1 light-weight raincoat
1 running top
1 pair of capri yoga pants
4 pairs of socks
1 pair of light hiking boots
1 pair of walking shoes
1 pair of shower flip-flops
1 large scarf/sarong
1 extra scarf

Camera and cover
Electronic adapters and power cords
Lonely Planet country cut-outs
Day pack and laundry bags
Ziplock bags
Sling Bag
Universal Alarm Clock

It is still a work in progress, but I usually go through the process of packing once, unpacking and taking anything unnecessary out and re-packing. Let's see if everything makes the cut tomorrow!
